Kelsey Seybold Announces New West University Clinic Near Spencer R Berthelsen Main Campus
HOUSTON (Nov. 07, 2022) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic announced plans today to build a 26,000-square-foot clinic near its flagship Spencer R. Berthelsen Main Campus (Berthelsen Main Campus). With a projected opening in spring 2023, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – West University will be located at 3003 W. Holcombe Blvd. in the Vanderbilt Square shopping center at the corner of W. Holcombe Blvd. and Buffalo Speedway.
Initially, West University Clinic will support the renovation of its nearby Berthelsen Main Campus by temporarily providing space for those providers during construction. Once renovations of Berthelsen Main Campus are completed in 2024, West University Clinic will have space for up to 13 providers and offer additional services to West University, Braes Heights, Medical Center, and the larger South-Central region and communities. The two clinics are less than a half mile apart, making it ideal for patients to receive primary care with convenient specialty care services nearby.
“Access, quality, and continuity of care for our patients are of utmost importance as we add clinics and services in the Greater Houston area,” said Tony Lin, M.D., chairman and chief executive officer of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. “Our new West University Clinic and transformed Berthelsen Main Campus reflect the growing needs of our communities and our vision to keep high quality care close to home.”
After providing transitional overflow during the Berthelsen Main Campus renovation, West University Clinic will expand access to coordinated, evidence-based care in the area. The clinic will provide adult and pediatric primary care with plans to add specialists in dermatology. West University Clinic will also offer on-site services such as laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound, as well as a Kelsey Pharmacy.
“Our growth supports the changing needs of this vibrant community,” said Kenneth Janis, M.H.A./M.B.A., chief operating officer, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. “We are excited to offer patients greater access to quality care with our transformed Berthelsen Main Campus and new West University Clinic location options.”
