Major expansion of Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center

Kelsey-Seybold Announces Major Expansion of Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center

Multispecialty clinic to add 40,000 square feet of clinic space, increasing access for area residents to specialty services, including radiation therapy for cancer treatment

HOUSTON (March 7, 2022) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic has commenced a 40,000-square-foot expansion of its Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center located at 15655 Cypress Woods Medical Dr. The buildout includes a 12,000-square-foot expansion of the first floor and a new 28,000-square-foot addition on the south side of the building. Upon final completion in the first quarter 2023, Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center will offer patients a total of 172,000 square feet of clinical, diagnostic, and treatment space with room for more than 60 providers.

The expansion of Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center builds on Kelsey-Seybold’s long-standing presence in the community and will allow for significant growth of specialty care, including Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, and Behavioral Health, as well as additional providers in Gastroenterology, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and Dermatology. Patients will also have access to an expanded complement of laboratory services as well as PET-CT. A new 1.5 Tesla MRI and 64-slice CT will be installed as part of a planned upgrade for these diagnostic services.

The expanded laboratory will serve as one of two fully operational core laboratories dedicated to meet the growing demand for regional laboratory services.

“Our connection to this community goes beyond the care that we deliver to our patients. Our providers and staff have always taken the role of community partner very seriously,” said Cecilia Fowler, senior director, Ambulatory Services, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. “Thousands of patients walk through our doors every week, and it is our utmost pleasure to be growing this location to offer more of what our patients need, right here.”

The expansion of Kelsey-Seybold’s Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center coincides with the growth observed in the North Houston, Spring, and Cypress areas. Residents are likely to continue living in these areas into retirement and with healthcare needs that are more specialized.

“For more than 15 years, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center has provided patients living in North Houston and Spring communities quality care that is close to home and work,” said Hilary Chandler, R.N., B.S.N., nurse manager, Cancer Services, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. “We are excited that Kelsey-Seybold Clinic's Spring Cancer Center Campus will be adding Radiation Oncology to increase convenience for patients undergoing treatment for cancer.”

“We often hear from our patients how grateful they are to have a Kelsey-Seybold location close by and how they want to come here for all of their care,” said Muhammed Nathani, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.G., co-managing physician, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center. “By growing our footprint here, we are delivering on the promise we make to offer quality, coordinated care that is convenient for those living and working in this part of town. We are as excited for this new expansion to open as our patients are.”

The 28,000-square-foot Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center expansion was designed by Kirksey Architecture, and the 12,000-square-foot first floor renovation was designed by PowersBrown Architects. Gamma Construction has been selected as the general contractor for this project.
