Conservative Approach to Treatment
At the Kelsey-Seybold Spine Center, specialists treat a wide range of problems that affect the musculoskeletal system, including back pain, sciatica, muscle and ligament injuries, work injuries, myofascial pain, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoporosis.
Kelsey-Seybold orthopedic specialists diagnose injuries and problems of the musculoskeletal system by conducting a thorough physical exam and taking a detailed history of the patient. Diagnostic testing may include laboratory testing, X-rays, electromyography (EMG, which accesses the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them), CT scan (if a bone problem is suspected), a bone scan (if a malignancy or small fracture is suspected), or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI, if surgery is being considered).
