Sheila Rahighi is a certified physician assistant in Kelsey-Seybold’s Cardiology department. She earned her undergraduate degree in respiratory care from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2007 and proceeded to gain over a decade of experience in the medical field as a respiratory therapist. She worked in a variety of settings ranging from cardiac ICU to emergency rooms providing direct patient care through ventilator management and aiding in respiratory treatment of cardiopulmonary conditions. Sheila then earned her Master of Medical Science, Physician Assistant from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, in 2020. Prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in November 2021, Sheila worked as a physician assistant at Pearland Psychiatry in Texas.

Sheila enjoys spending time with family, traveling, snowboarding, running and reading.

Fun Facts

The best advice Sheila has ever received is “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

The most exotic places she has visited are the Cenotes (underwater caves) in Mexico, Cinque Terre in Italy, and the Acropolis in Athens.

Not everyone knows this about Sheila, but she has done open water diving with 30-plus sharks in the Bahamas. Her guilty pleasure is seafood gumbo.

As a child, Sheila wanted to be a waitress because she liked the idea of serving people with a large tray. She achieved her goal at 18, working at Saltgrass Steak House in Houston.
