Sahar Ali, MPAS, PA-C, pursued her undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin, earning her Bachelor of Science in public health in 2022. She then went to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2024. Sahar joined Kelsey-Seybold’s General Surgery department in March 2025.

As a certified physician assistant, Sahar is passionate about breaking down barriers to equitable care and helping her patients feel empowered and confident. Medicine allows her to combine her love for education, problem-solving, and making meaningful connections with others. Sahar sees patients in a warm, welcoming environment to help them access pre- and post-operative care, serving as a surgical first assistant in various procedures and in post-surgical evaluation, biopsies, and more. She takes the time to listen, understand her patients’ unique needs, and works with them to develop personalized plans to help them feel their best.

Philosophy of Care

Sahar places the patient at the center of everything she does — prioritizing their needs, listening to their concerns, and working collaboratively with them to encourage communication and informed decision making. By focusing on the whole person, she aims to build trust and support each patient in achieving their health goals.

Sahar’s clinical interests include General Surgery with a focus on serving as a surgical first assist in various procedures and in post-surgical evaluation, biopsies, and more.

Hobbies and Interests

In her spare time, Sahar loves staying active while also enjoying creative outlets like baking and painting. She is an avid foodie and enjoys exploring new restaurants around Houston. Plus, she’s always looking for ways to improve herself and try new things!

    UT Health San Antonio: Effects of PA training on lifestyle habits of trainees
    Fall 2022 – Current

  • Served as the research lead for our thesis component of Master of Physician Assistant Studies at UTHSCSA.
  • Implemented a study which aimed to quantify changes in lifestyle habits associated with PA training in an effort to better understand adverse effects on the mental health of PA students.
  • Gained valuable research, collaborative, interdisciplinary, and networking skills.

    UT President’s Award for Global Learning: Skin Cancer in Singapore
    Spring 2020 – Spring 2022

  • Prestigious award by UT International Board of Advisors which allowed for funding of an international project.
  • Implemented an updated AR technology approach to traditional public health initiatives, to distribute a campaign
  • Regarding skin cancer prevention among young, Singaporean adults.
  • Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of students, medical providers, and educators to deliver a unique product tailored to our population.
