Lawana Aguilliard, MS, APRN, AGACNP-BC, began her medical career in nursing, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, in 2000. She went on to Texas Woman’s University in Houston, completing her Master of Science in Nursing – Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2018. Lawana then completed a year-long internship at Houston Methodist Hospital. She joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Cardiology department in February 2025.
Lawana became an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to help address health disparities and enhance access to care in her community. She specializes in providing personalized Cardiology care and education to empower her adult patients. Lawana can diagnose and treat a variety of cardiovascular conditions, such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and heart failure. Her favorite part of working in the medical field is having the ability to serve people and positively impact their lives.

Lawana understands that it is really crucial to figure out who her patients are as people, what's important to them, how their illness affects their daily lives, and their goals in seeking care. She prioritizes clearly communicating and listening actively to her patients’ concerns so that she can best tailor their care to their individual needs and partner with them in their healthcare decisions.
Hobbies and Interests
Away from work, Lawana enjoys spending time with her family. Her hobbies are exploring places, trying new restaurants, volunteering, track and field, and watching movies.
