Dr. Karen Wittenburg completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2009 at Texas A&M University in College Station, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from UTHealth McGovern Medical School in Houston in 2014. Dr. Wittenburg did her residency training at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School Pediatrics Residency Program in 2017. She served as Chief Resident from July 2017 to June 2018. Dr. Wittenburg joined Kelsey-Seybold in 2018.

Hobbies & Interests

Dr. Wittenburg enjoys baking, reading, yoga, cycling, and spending time with her husband and three sons.

Fun Facts

The best advice Dr. Wittenburg received is that you never regret a long walk.

While in medical school, she spent a month in Beijing, China. She loved learning about the history and culture of the country and eating all the delicious food.

As a native Houstonian who grew up near NASA, Dr. Wittenburg wanted to be an astronomer as a kid. “My love for science started early,” she says.
