Dr. George Adesina earned his medical degree in 2011 at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. After completing his residency in 2014, Dr. Adesina began a fellowship program in cardiovascular diseases at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, which he completed in 2017, including a year as Chief Cardiology Fellow from 2016 to 2017. Prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in 2018, Dr. Adesina served as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine - General Adult Cardiologist at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Adesina received the following awards: Meritus Service Award, 2017; Housestaff Teacher of the Year Award, 2016; American College of Physicians North Texas Poster Competition – 1st Place Award/State Qualifier, 2014; Update in Clinical Cardiology Scholarship Recipient, Ochsner Medical Center Cardiovascular Symposium, 2012-2013; Merck Manual Award for clinical excellence, 2010-2011; and the Ben Raimer TDCJ Medical Student of the Year Award for clinical excellence, 2010-2011.

Dr. Adesina enjoys traveling, international cuisine, exercising, and spending time with his family.

Fun Facts

The best advice Dr. Adesina has ever received is “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.”

What many people don’t know about Dr. Adesina is he’s been personally affected by three major hurricanes – Katrina while attending college in New Orleans, Ike while attending medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and Harvey during his first year of practice.

His guilty pleasure is binge watching reality TV with his wife after a hard day.
