Elizabeth Trujillo, OD, first completed her Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Houston. She then attended the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas, completing her Doctor of Optometry in 2021. Elizabeth joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Optometry department in February 2025.
Having been diagnosed with her own eye conditions when she was younger, Elizabeth was introduced to the world of eye care through many eye doctor visits and understood early on the importance of protecting eyesight. For preventive care, she provides comprehensive eye exams to check vision and eye health and prescribe corrective lenses. Elizabeth also treats acute medical eye conditions, such as pink eye, red eye, and foreign body removals, as well as chronic eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy. Her favorite parts of Optometry are getting to interact with patients and improving their vision and quality of life through better eyesight.
Clinical Interests
Elizabeth’s clinical interests are managing and treating disease and disorders of the eyes, especially those that are related to systemic associations, including diabetic retinopathy and inflammation caused by autoimmune conditions. She also has an interest in managing dry eye disease.
Philosophy of Care
Elizabeth builds trust with patients with compassion and good communication. To put their needs first, she strives to ensure patients understand all aspects of their eye health, how it can affect their overall systemic health, and how they can best preserve their eye health and vision for the rest of their lives./p>
Hobbies and Interests
When not caring for patients, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and visiting different sites across Houston. They are big foodies and enjoy exploring other cultures and cuisines.
