Chad Scott, MD, graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine in 2020 from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He went on to complete his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 2023. He joined Kelsey-Seybold in August 2023.

Dr. Scott was inspired to become the first physician in his family after learning about various career options and finding medicine to be the perfect blend of science and his love for helping people. He treats and manages a wide variety of conditions in adults, including heart disease and heart conditions, diabetes, obesity, acid reflux, sexual and preventative health, kidney and liver dysfunction, mild skin conditions, acute viral illnesses, asthma, COPD, and many other conditions. Additional clinical interests include weight management, hypertension, and mental health, including dementia. His favorite part of medicine is seeing the relief in his patients' eyes when a medication or treatment has changed their lives for the better.

Research

  • Point-of-Care Ultrasonography (POCUS) in the Resident Training Curriculum. Quality Improvement Project. Annual Family Medicine Symposium – Baylor College of Medicine. Compiled survey data and literature review for utilizing point-of-care ultrasonography in the clinical training setting. Presented our research findings to the annual research symposium hosted by BCM. Project was eventually presented at Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) in Kansas City, MO.
  • Status Epilepticus Data Entry – San Antonio, 2018–19. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Shaheryar Hafeez, MD, Neurosurgery; and Tiffany Brown, MD, Neurology; Compiled data from University Hospital electronic medical system during preliminary period of research; inquiring the difference in outcomes of using second anti-epileptic drugs vs. sedative agents on status epilepticus.
  • Undergraduate Honors Thesis – Waco, Texas, 2014–15. Researched numerous hours, compiling and analyzing metadata from a variety of scientific journals and sources, inquiring into the possible links between single motherhood and life expectancy. Defended before faculty: April 2015. Mentored by Bill Neilson, MD, of Baylor University Honors College.

Hobbies & Interests

Dr. Scott enjoys swimming, running, reading, following Baylor sports, and playing the piano. He also spends time with friends and likes eating at the many delicious restaurants Houston has to offer.
