Research

06/2014 – 03/2015

Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center, Michigan, United States Research Assistant, Beena Sood, M.D., M.S.

I worked on a lipid study of neonates to determine if there is a correlation between lipid content in neonates and complications of preterm labor such as retinopathy of prematurity, necrotizing enterocolitis, and intra-ventricular hemorrhage. I was responsible for obtaining informed consent from the mothers, then getting the blood samples from the neonates. I centrifuged the samples and pipette the supernatant for storage into freezers to be analyzed later.

07/2018 – 04/2019

University at Buffalo UBMD Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, New York, United States Research Analyst, Data Collector, John Leddy, M.D.

I recruited concussed athletes for a study on measuring heart rate variability in concussed patients versus controls. I later collected the data and presented the findings at the national Sports Medicine conference in Houston, Texas in April 2019.
