Asmeen Bhatt, MD, PhD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist at Kelsey-Seybold. She attended Mahatma Gandhi Mission's Medical College at the University of Mumbai in India, completing her medical degree in 2000. Dr. Bhatt earned her PhD in cell and molecular biology at Kent State University in 2006, going on to Canton Medical Education Foundation, Canton, Ohio, to complete her Internal Medicine residency in 2008. She also completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine at Galveston in 2018. Dr. Bhatt joined Kelsey-Seybold in January 2025.

As a very young child, Dr. Bhatt was raised by her grandfather, a renowned clinician who instilled in her a desire to pursue medicine in his footsteps. Patients see Dr. Bhatt for a wide variety of Gastroenterology concerns, including gastric reflux disease, difficulty swallowing, constipation or diarrhea, blood in the stool, and abdominal pain. She also provides colonoscopies for colon cancer screenings and help patients manage obesity. Dr. Bhatt’s favorite part of being a doctor is interacting with and getting to know her patients.

For each patient, Dr. Bhatt gathers all appropriate data, asks lot of questions, and personally explains to them their medical conditions and treatment, focusing on the options that would lead to the most meaningful improvement in the patient's quality of life. Further, she truly believes in "Do No Harm," understanding that sometimes less is more in medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Bhatt enjoys traveling, hiking, and baking.
