As a general practitioner, Dr. Averyt cares for patients along the life course and on the health-illness spectrum. Whether they have a specific concern related to their health or are interested in general care and the early detection, treatment, or prevention of chronic or acute illness, she is excited to be part of their journey. She believes in patient-centered, evidence-based care and helping patients meet their unique health-related goals. She is interested in caring for the whole person, including the mental, physical, environmental, and social components of health. Dr. Averyt has a special interest in providing a sensitive and supportive medical home for the youth in her care and offering gender affirming care for her adult patients.
Hobbies & Interests
In her spare time, Dr. Averyt enjoys anything outdoors, especially with family and friends – whether it is running, walking in the park, swimming, riding her bike around town, or exploring the parks and greenspaces around Houston.
