Alexander Metoxen, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2016 from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency in 2021 at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. In 2022, he completed his Adult Reconstructive Orthopedics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Metoxen has coauthored numerous scientific papers and researched various orthopedics aspects. He also has presented at research symposiums and grand rounds on the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic diseases and joint replacement surgery.

He joined Kelsey Seybold in August of 2022.

Dr. Metoxen enjoys playing piano, cooking, traveling, homebrewing beer, and playing with his dogs.

Fun Facts

The best advice Dr. Metoxen has received is “Question everything – refuse to accept tradition or dogma and strive to research and discover the answer yourself.”

The most interesting place he has visited is Rome, Italy, where he studied during undergraduate training.

Not everyone knows this about Dr. Metoxen, but his last name comes from his Native American ancestry. Donuts are his guilty pleasure.

As a child, Dr. Metoxen wanted to be a fighter pilot in the Air Force because he enjoyed flying and adventure.
