‘Caring Hands’ Help Employee Diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.

Ericka Green was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2009. A longtime Kelsey-Seybold employee, she knew she’d be in caring hands at the Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center.

She said her oncologist, Dr. Tejash “TJ” Patel, nurses and support staff more than met her expectations.

Dr. Patel recommended surgery, which was followed by a month-and-a-half of chemotherapy.

“Everyone in the Cancer Center staff is so nice and comforting. They just treated me with great hospitality. They pampered me and took care of my needs,” she said.

‘I felt that I was going to live’

Ericka appreciated the personal care she received and never once felt that she was just a number.

“When I got to the Cancer Center, I felt more like a healed person. I didn’t feel like a sick person. They made me feel like everything was going to be fine.  I really felt good. I felt like I was going to live, ” she recalled.

Ericka is a claims analyst who works at the Kelsey-Seybold Administrative Offices in Pearland. She loves working for Kelsey-Seybold.

“I’ve been here for 12 years. Just to be in a place where I can continue to grow and excel makes Kelsey a wonderful place to work,” she said.

Healing happens here

Ericka said that life since her cancer treatment has been “grand” and she’s thankful for the excellent care she received.

“I’m so glad that I’m healed. I’m also glad that I’m a part of Kelsey-Seybold and that the Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center was part of my healing power,” Ericka said. “I would recommend the Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center to anyone.”
